My washing machine was making a horrible noise so I called around to try to find a company that could send someone the same day. This company arrived on time with good communication. The tech was friendly . I told them I suspected a foreign object may be stuck in the washer because my husband is a contractor and I am regularly finding screws and nails in the bottom of the machine (he doesn't empty his pockets). The technician looked at the machine and told me I needed a new motor (parts + labor roughly $600). I agreed since he felt this was the issue and he left. After talking with my husband, I called the store where I purchased the washer and found out that it was still under warranty. I called the technician to cancel the part and service because it was going to be covered by my warranty. It had only been 20 minutes since he left my house.... I was told the part had already been ordered and shipped (on a Saturday) so I would have to pay $45 to cancel the part in addition to the charge for the same day service fee. I was completely fine with the service call fee (of course) but $45 to cancel a part that could not possibly have been ordered/shipped yet seems shady. Even if they had ordered it, it had only been 20 minutes at most and should have been able to be cancelled.

I will add that when the other service company who is covered with my warranty showed up, they found a brad nail in the machine which was causing the issue. The motor is completely fine, no replacement needed. Once he removed the nail all is running great.

**UPDATED** This company reached out to refund the cancellation fee that I was charged. They were very polite and tried to make things right which I appreciate. I will update the rating to reflect this.
